World's Oldest Bat Gets Carried Around for His "Daily Flight" to Feel Happy, Shows Us that Even Geribatric Sky Puppies Can Still Have Wholesome Fun (Video)

We hope you're having a great weekend, animal fam. Even if you are having a great weekend, we have some bad new to tell you: you're probably not having as great of a weekend as Statler, the world's oldest bat who gets a king's treatment every day. Because of his arthritis and injuries, Statler can no longer fly on his own. However, thanks to the help of his animal shelter friends, he can go on his daily "flight" as they "fly" him around the animal shelter in their arms. They stop for snacks, to hang out (literally) outside, and then back to the "geribatric" ward where he and 20 of his other bat family members reside.

Now, you may be thinking, "Ew, bats! Gross!" But look again, this bat is actually a giant sky puppy and is probably the cutest thing you'll see today. He likes to cuddle, get sponge baths, and nom on pieces of fruit until he's full and sleepy. Statler may even convince you that you want a pet bat (he did for us, at least).
